Description

Strict passport photo requirements can make applications a little stressful, just follow my guidelines below and I’ll sort everything out for you.

1. Select your  passport or Visa choices and purchase your order.
2. Now… take a photo as set out in the guide below.
3. Upload and send me your photo
4. Download your digital photo and if select, printouts delivered to your doorstep, that’s it!

1. Check your counties Passport and Visa guideline requirements below.
2. Use a phone or digital camera to take your photo in front of a white or plain light background.
3. Stand about 1.5 meters away from the person who should stand or sit about 30cm clear of the background, this reduces shadows.
4. Backgrounds can be removed and changed to correct colour requirements.
5. Ensure no shadows or reflections are on your face. Do not use a flash.
6. Center facing, no tilting head in any direction. Neutral face expression with clear open eyes.
7. Send me your photos with this link or email to info@amaphoto.co.uk (avoid cropping or compressing the image to ensure the best quality)
8. I will resize and check that your image meets all the country requirements.

🔹 Receive both Prints and Digital. A print with sized images ready to use, posted to your doorstep AND a Digital Image sent to you electronically.

Passport Photos: 35×45 mm
2 photos will need to be submitted.
UK Digital passport: 600×750 px
Visa Photos: 35×45 mm
ID Photos: 35×45 mm
Drivers Photos: 35×45 mm
London Freedom Pass: 35×45 mm (600 dpi)
Kent (KCC) Travel Pass (digital format): 40KB jpeg file
Drivers and ID (digital format): 400×515 px

Photo Requirements
A light-grey or plain cream background.
In colour, clear and in focus no shadows.
Facing forward and looking straight at the camera.
Neutral expression and your mouth closed.
Eyes open, no ‘red eye’, visible and free from reflection or glare from glasses.
No hair in front of your eyes or anything covering your face.
No head covering (unless it’s for religious or medical reasons).
No tinted glasses.
You can wear reading glasses but your eyes must show fully through clear lenses.
It is preferable to remove glasses.

Digital Passport Photo Requirements
Background Requirements : light-grey or cream background.
Include full head, shoulders and upper body.
Have a lot of clear space around the head and shoulders.
No shadows on face or background.
Be facing forward and looking straight at the camera.
Plain expression and your mouth closed.
Eyes open and visible.
No hair covering your eyes.
No headwear (unless it’s for religious or medical reasons).
Be in focus.
In colour without any effects or filters.

Passports for children under 6
Clear and true likeness of child.
Neutral expression is NOT required.
Head can be on an angle.
Not required to look directly at camera.
No supporting hands.
Babies under one do not need to have their eyes open.
Reflection and glare are acceptable on glasses.

Passport Requirements
A white or off-white background.
Head coverings for religious reasons only.
Wearing Tribal or National costumes are not allowed.
Children or babies must be facing forward, eyes do not need to be open.
Glasses may only be worn if you have a medical issue certified as necessary by a medical doctor.

Same as Passport Photos (see above).

Full front view of face and top of shoulders.
Showing a full face in the middle of the photo.
Children’s eyes need to be open.
A digital copy of the photo is required.
Visa Requirements
Plain light background.
Head coverings for religious reasons only.
Babies under one do NOT need their eyes open.

Visa Application, a digital copy of the photo is required.
Photo should present full face, front view, eyes open.
The background should be plain light coloured or white background.
No shadows on the face or on the background.

OCI Card Requirements
Head size 70-80%.
Full Face, Front View, Eyes open.
A neutral expression, neither frowning nor smiling with mouth closed.
Head coverings allowed for religious reasons only, but full facial features are not to be obscured.

Passport Photos: 35×45 mm
4 photos will need to be submitted
Passport (digital format): 715×951 px

Passport Requirements
A light coloured background is needed for your photos
Head coverings for religious reasons only.
Black & White is recommended, but colour photos are accepted.
Photos must be in sharp focus and correctly exposed.
Shadows from the head must not appear in the background.
‘Red eye’ in photographs is not acceptable.
Digital enhancements or changes are not acceptable.
Good colour balance and natural skin tones are essential.
Your expression should be neutral with both eyes open and mouth closed.
There should be no hair covering your eyes.
If glasses are worn they should be of clear glass so that the eyes are clearly visible.
Hairbands should not be worn.
In the case of babies, the eyes do not need to be open

Digital photo Requirements
Should comply with standard Irish passport photo specifications additionally the image:
Cannot be less than 715 pixels wide and 951 pixels high.
The file type should be JPEG.
Image file size should not exceed 9MB.
Image must allow additional room for cropping (Mid torso is ideal).

Visa Requirements
Same as Passport Photos (see above)

Ears must be clearly visible.
Neutral expression of face.
Face coverage: 70% to 80% of the photo area.
No shadow on the face and on the background.

Passport Requirements
A white background is needed for your photos
In colour.
Photo must show the full face and upper part of the neck.
Features must be clear with no shadowing.
In the case of babies, eyes must be open.

Visa Requirements
Must be in colour
Looking straight at the camera and both sides of the face should be clearly visible.
The shoulders should be visible
Facial coverings and hats or other headgear are not permitted in the photos.
Hair should not cover any part of the face and the eyes should be clearly visible
The mouth must be shut and teeth not visible in the photos.
While there is no restriction on the wearing of glasses, clear eyes, no reflections.
It is preferable to remove them to ensure that reflections do not affect the visibility of the eyes.

Visa Photos: 35×45 mm
2 photos will need to be submitted
Visa (digital format): 420×540 px

Visa Requirements
Photos must show the full front view of the head, with the face in the middle of the photograph, and include the top of the shoulders.
The face must be square to the camera with a neutral expression, neither frowning nor smiling, with the mouth closed.
The photographs must be clear, well defined
You may wear non-tinted prescription glasses as long as your eyes are clearly visible.
Make sure that the frame does not cover any part of your eyes. Sunglasses are not acceptable.
A hairpiece or other cosmetic accessory is acceptable if it does not disguise your normal appearance.
If you must wear a head covering for religious reasons, make sure your full facial features are not obscured.

Passport Requirements
A plain white background (or light-blue background for applicants with white hair)is needed for your photos
Must be in Colour.
Full face centered to the camera.
Both ears showing
No hair accessories.
Eyeglasses should be removed if they reflect light and distort the applicant’s eyes.
Taken with uniform lighting: no shadows, glare or flash reflections.
Jewelry is strictly not to be worn.
In the case of babies, the eyes must be open

Visa Requirements
Must be in Colour against a white background.
A neutral expression, eyes open and with facial features clearly visible.
Photo must include a view of the full face, neck and upper shoulders.
No shadows over the face or the background.
Taken face on, both ears showing
No jewelry is allowed to be worn.
The customer must not be wearing garments identical to the colour of the background
Glasses are allowed if the lenses are not tinted and there is no glare, shadows or frames obscuring the eyes.
Hearing aids or similar devices are allowed.
Hats or head coverings are only allowed if worn for religious reasons and only if they do not obscure any facial features.

Digital Visa Photo Requirements
